The Battle of Huế began on the night of 30 January 1968.

But the communist aggressors deliberately violated the "three-day cease-fire." In the early hours of New Year's Eve, two battalions of foot soldiers were sent and opened fire.

​Vietnam Film Club had released the documentary titled "The Hue Massacre 1968" some time ago as part of its series "Communism in Vietnam." In 2023, the film was re-edited with English subtitles.
